ソニーブースに2011から2012年にかけて発表する可能性がある7タイプの新Eマウントレンズのプロトタイプ展示されている。
10月中旬、NEX-5とNEX-3のファームアップが行われる。
AマウントアダプタLA-EA1で、SAMレンズ、SSMレンズを装着時のオートフォーカスを可能にする。
またボタンに機能割り当てが出来る新カスタムファンクションや動画撮影時の絞り有線機能が追加される。

Sony NEX review to be updated following firmware update: Digital Photography Review
Photokina 2010: Sony has announced a firmware update for its NEX-3 and NEX-5 APS-C mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras. Version 03 addresses a number of widely-expressed concerns about the user interface as well as allowing autofocus using the 14 Sony SAM and SSM lenses with built-in focus motors. It also allows the aperture to be set for video shooting. Given that the update aims improve many of the things we criticized in our review, we will update our review to reflect the changes as soon as we’ve properly tested the camera’s revised behavior.
